Statistics 84 miles, 1700 feet of elevation, average speed 14.5 mph, left at 7AM and arrived at 1:50, calories expended 4500. Todays ride seemed easier, there was a nice stretch of 24 miles of freshly paved road, no potholes to worry about. It was cool in the morning and just a beautiful day. One of the women in the ride arranged for cookies and doughnuts for the SAG stop, so I ate 4 cookies, a banana, balance bar along with 16 ounces of Gatorade and water to wash it down.
As I was leaving the hotel this morning, the flag got caught in the first set of doors and was pulled off the bike as I went through the second set of doors. The flag has been a problem for me, not being used to having one on the back of the bike. I have knocked it into people and poked them as I swing my leg over.
Todays lunch was a double hamburger, fries and a jumbo chocolate shake. Dinner was at Ruby Tuesday tilapia, rice broccoli and two trips to the salad bar along with the usual lemonade and water.
At 8:45 pm I am tired and have the sore butt and arms. Tomorrow is my first century with the group. Nice ride for Father's Day 103 miles from Richmond, IN to Marysville, OH.

Happy Father's Day Dad! Have a great ride and an extra 1000 calories in honor of the day. :) Lynne
If I have to travel 84 miles to eat all that stuff then forget it! You've mentioned the other woman bike riders a couple of times now. Don't get any ideas. Remember you have the best in Ann and you don't want to deal with her friends wrath! (Just kidding. I know what a friendly gentleman you are.) May your butt feel better. Happy Father's Day
Captain,
Great progress. Glad to hear you are getting the same amount of calories to intake as you and I did on the road during our days at GE. Mary and I are going out for a Father's day bike ride, so we'll be thinking of you. Looking forward to reading about your first century of the ride

P.S.
Mary Kate says great job! Have fun!
Hi Dave..........I'm glad you are doing so well on the ride. We're eating beer and pizza watching the US Open. We played golf so we burned a few calories, but not as many as you have been burning. We're drinking the red wine you gave us. It's really great. Good luck with the rest of the ride and Linda will rub your butt when you get back. I know it's really sore. But don't let Ann know. :-).
Clarification: Joe and Linda Ragusa used our log-on information to post a comment. Can you guess which one?
How do you sleep at Night ... Hamburgers, shakes, cookies, R Tuesday ... what no desert? Just finish watching Tiger missing out on the 18th ... So I thought of checking in to see how you are doing. Sound like you are doing great.
